I am a hardcore gamer and I'm studying to be a video game designer. I figure joining Newgrounds will help me learn coding for animations and games AND see what people think of my game ideas.

In one of my early posts, I said I joined a Virtual High School class that taught Flash.

Well, today I FINALLY received my Flash software. The COMPLETE MX2004 STUDIO!!!

I thougt I was only going to get Flash MX2004, but instead I got the entire freakin' studio for FREE!!!

Yeah, it's a little out of date, but who cares?? Today...my quest for King of the Portal has begun.

Tremble, all ye faint of heart! Your destruction is nigh!

Does anyone know any epic battle music from the newgrounds audio portal?

It's gotta be really intense!!

can't say what I need it for...yet... ;)

My latest song is done!

I call it "Transitions", because I'm transitioning away from using the loops. In this song, the only prefabs are the drums! It's freaking sweet, bub!

go check it out now, and if you're going to comment, please make sure it's helpful.

I'm sure it can be improved, but what people have been telling me is true: GarageBand SUCKS.

I finished my sequel to Chris P. Nuggets {trance}. It's a LOT better than the original, i think.

It should be uploaded in a few minutes.

Also, for you people that don't like the prefab loops that I have been using, I am working on a song right now where the only loops are the drums. it's going great, but don't expect it to be done for another week or more.

i submitted some music I made in garageband yesterday. personally, I thought it sucked.

however, it currently has a 4.25/5.00!

Now that this post gets the news out, however, it'll probably go down... which kinda sucks...

i have signed on for a virtual high school class that teaches Flash... and give you Flash MX or Flash 8 for FREE!!

The class starts in January, and I expect to submit something by summer, unless I move out of the house before then (I'm almost 18, you see).

All I can say about the flash series I'm thinking of is this: prepare to be overrun and killed.

By robots.

...sounds like an old sci-fi movie cliche, but it really isn't. You'll see what I mean in a few months.

In other news, I have become addicted to StarCraft. holy heck, is that a good game or what?!

I was browsing the 'net looking for something to do, and a came across a site that specializes in ROMs. They had roms for a LOT of old consoles, most of which i hadn't even heard of or played, like 'Acorn Electron", "Callus" (yes thats spelled right), and "Infocom Z-Machine". some of them were old PCs, too, so that would explain some of the names.

Anyhoo, on to the subject of this blog. The site had a LOT of GBA roms, and most of them were actually very recent: Pokemon ruby and sapphire, megaman, sonic advance, they were all there!

However, there were no gamecube games, even though GC game production stopped long before GBA production stopped.

Why is this? Why are the GBA games already considered abandonware (hence all the roms) even though many stores still sell them, and GC games aren't considered abandonware?

I was about to give up on newgrounds and flash animating, so I downloaded Game Maker 7 and was going to make games in that and hang around yoyogames.com to see what people think of my ideas there.

HOWEVER I just learned I may be able to get Macromedia flash 8!!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to or not, tho, and if I don't I'll still blog about my game ideas here and maybe post the links to the site where my latest game will be.

Thanks for all the help and support all of you guys have given me! I really look forward to contributing to newgrounds and/or yoyogames.com!!

OK, get this: I installed Liveswif, the free falsh animator, a few days ago and it was working fine. Today, I FINALLY found a tutorial and Liveswif STOPPED WORKING. GAAHH!!!!

Here's what the error message says:

Jeez, RIGHT when I get excited about FINALLY making my own animations, THAT happens. any1 have any idea what that means? How can I fix it?

If it can't be fixed easily, I think I'll wait until next year, when I'm living on my own and have enough money saved up, and get Macromedia Flash.

Somebody told me that although liveswif is free, it sucks. They were right!

I'm slowly learning how to use it, though. I made a smiley face yesterday! Yay!!
I don't think it's worthy of Newgrounds, but, hey, first things first, right?

1st: smilies 2nd: take over the world

Yep, definitely got my priorities straight!
