did you try a different version just to make sure its a version problem? My flash 8 works fine in vista. I think DanPaladin still uses flash MX, you should drop him a message and ask him what operating system he uses. maybe he also is on Vista and has made it work somehow.

My flash class won't accept assignments made in Flash 8. They're afraid of compatibility issues, since the teacher and everyone else is given Flash MX.
